We all know and love The Unarchiver because it’s quick, free, unobtrusive and will open any archive you may stumble upon. Recently, The Unarchiver joined the MacPaw family of apps and we think it calls for a celebration!
MacPaw started out just like The Unarchiver — in a dorm room of one guy, coding an app. Now, after 10 years of experience in system utilities development, you can trust us to fully maintain and improve The Unarchiver. We are honored to apply our high standards and company values to this project.
It has been over ten years since Dag created The Unarchiver. We’re happy to welcome one of the most popular Mac utilities to the family of MacPaw products. It’s a big honor for us to keep the product alive for the users.
When I opened The Unarchiver project in Xcode and started working on it for the first time, I was impressed by its simplicity and robustness. It’s a challenge to try and keep it that way. And I’ll do my best not to let The Unarchiver down.
I remember The Unarchiver from my university years, and still it’s one of the first apps I install on a new mac. Imagine my excitement when I heard the news! The Unarchiver is a special little utility and I’m very proud to be a part of the team.
